The Glory Be Story

Howdy! Jacob and Ben here, just your friendly GBHC owners. We are excited that you are here, and that we get to share the joy of making hats with you. Ben and I both hail from smaller rural towns, and we love hearing and telling a good story. Hopefully we get the chance to share more and more of this story as time goes on, but here's a little snapshot of how this thing all began.

In November of 2019, I set out to launch a custom leather goods business after years of pursuing leatherwork as a hobby. Early on in the development of the business, I hand tooled a leather patch and sewed it on a blank hat I had laying around. After staring at it with excitement for several minutes, I made another. I was so mesmerized that it took a moment to realize I had sewn through the sweat band!

Very quickly after that, I was making and selling more hats than any other product, and thus the thought of starting a hat business was born. I've always loved wearing hats, but struggled to find a hat brand that made hats in contemporary and relevant styles for individuals to express their Christian faith. So for several years I made branded hat products for other companies and organizations while I developed a lineup of hats of our own novel designs. In 2022, after moving to Montana with my wife and kids, Ben and I started discussing how to build this pursuit into what God seemingly wanted for it. In 2023, after talking about the business while sitting in a hunting blind all day, we created the Glory Be Hat Company together. What a joy it's been. God bless y'all.
