VERSO L'ALTO Sticker
Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati is known for his love of the outdoors and an adventurous spirit while living extraordinary charity amidst a mostly ordinary life. He was born in Turin, Italy in 1901 to an influential family. Inspired by a deep and rich spiritual life, Saint Pier Giorgio served the poor constantly, and eventually contracted polio- supposedly from exposure to the sick he served - and died in 1925.
Frassati had many interests and passions, from theater to politics to most well known: mountaineering and skiing. A picture was found from his last climb on June 7th, 1905 on which he had written "Verso l'alto", meaning toward the heights in Italian. Many have adopted this phrase as a personal motto. May God take you to many heights, both in virtue and in His beautiful creation!
